Myth 7. Always Split Aces And 8s, But Never Ts

According to BS one should always split Aces and 8s, but never T’s. Unless you are counting the cards and know the appropriate MBS indices, you should abide by BS rules. But, just because you see players failing to split Aces or 8s, or splitting T’s, do not automatically assume that they are making playing errors. They may know very well what they are doing and, more precisely, why they are doing it. For information about when it is wise to go against such BS.
